Afghan Health Organisation (AHO)
The Afghan Health Organisation (AHO) is a charitable organisation dedicated to supporting Afghan women in Harrow and Brent in London. Through a variety of projects/programmes, we strive to improve both physical and mental health while fostering overall well-being.
At AHO, we focus on addressing the socio-economic factors that influence health outcomes. We concentrate on early intervention as we believe proactive care results in better health outcomes.

Our Mission
Fostering Health Equality
AHO is dedicated to improving health outcomes by addressing the socio-economic factors that profoundly influence community well-being. We embrace a holistic approach to health, with social support, health education, and awareness initiatives to proactively prevent health issues.
AHO aims
- To preserve and protect the good physical and mental health of Afghan women in Harrow, Brent and the surrounding areas, primarily but not exclusively by the provision of health education, and the provision of walking and cycling groups.
- The promotion of social inclusion for the public benefit among Afghan women in Harrow and Brent who are socially excluded from society, or parts of society, on the grounds of their ethnic origin, sex, poor educational or skills attainment, unemployment or financial hardship, relieving the needs of such people and assisting them to integrate into society, primarily but not exclusively by:
- the provision of educational activities including digital literacy classes;
- the provision of parenting classes;
- providing a local network group that encourages and enables them to participate more effectively with the wider community.
